Having a clear view of our identity is important. Having a clear view of our identity in Christ is crucial. Sometimes we can lose sight of that identity but God always calls us to return to who He has called us to be. We’ll see that as we study Genesis 35. Here are the notes for our study.

As we read about Jacob’s amazing personal encounter with God we will see that it moved him to set up a "stone of remembrance" to be sure God’s people would remember HIs promises. Think back about the stress of preparing to take an important test. What kind of emotions and physical reactions did a major test bring? Why are tests necessary? Why do tests need to be rigorous (think surgeons, accountants, lawyers, and soldiers)? In God’s “school of faith” there are lessons to learn and tests to see how much our faith in Him has grown.
